DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival in Uganda.

On arrival at Uganda’s Entebbe international Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our guide and transferred to your hotel to relax and heal from jetlag as you wait to start your 22 day Uganda adventure the next day.

Day 2: Kampala city tour

Wake up to watch the beautiful sunrise as you enjoy a warm breakfast. From there, you will head to the vehicle to go out for a city tour around Kampala. Be ready to explore the vibrant capital city of Uganda on a busy day. You will visit the palace of the king of Buganda, the Kasubi tombs where fallen kings of Buganda kingdoms are buried, the martyrs’’ shrine in Namugongo, Gadaffi mosque where you will have a 360 view of Kampala city and Nakasero market to do fruit shopping.

Your lunch will be within the city. In the evening, you will return to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Jinja, Source of the Nile.

The day will start early with a nutritious breakfast before starting your journey to East Africa’s adventure capital, Jinja city. You will have enroute breakfast at Namawojjolo stop-over. This is a compulsory stop for any one going to Jinja for roasted chicken, beef, plantain and drinks. Then you will head to visit the Ssezibwa falls, the legend of Ssezibwa falls tells that the river Ssezibwa and river Bwanda were born as twin rivers by a woman named Nakangu Tebatuusa who was on her journey to Buvuma. R.Ssezibwa forms magnificient waterfalls where many tourists go to visit and the local

people especially the Baganda go there for cleansing, seek blessings and perform cultural rituals since they believe that the rivers are inhabited by the spirits of the twins.

After Ssezibwa falls, you will continue to Mabira Forest to enjoy a forest walk and a zip line through the forest, later enjoy an evening boat cruise on the Nile to view the source of the Nile. Accommodation and Dinner at Nile Resort cottages.

Day 4: Full day Jinja.

Start your day with an energising breakfast before you step out for a busy day filled with vibes.  Be ready to engage in activities like white water rafting, bunjee jumping, water kayaking, water massage, horse riding and Jinja night life.

Dinner and accommodation at previous day hotel.

Day 5: Transfer to Sipi falls, land of waterfalls.

After your breakfast, you will pack your bags and join your driver to depart for Kapchorwa where you will find the spectacular Sipi falls at the edge of Mountain Elgon national park. You will get to enjoy a series of three scenic falls.

Day 6: Hike to Sipi falls, coffee tour.

You will start your day with a delicious breakfast, later continue to hike to view the top of the three cascading falls simba, ngasire and sipi falls. The upper loops and cliff tops provide stunning scenery and opportunities for extreme adventure of mountain Elgon footprints and the surrounding plains.

Day 7: Transfer to Moroto and visit to Karamojong community visit.

After your early morning meal, you will start your journey to Moroto where you will visit the Karamojong homes around this area. Be ready. to visit the Karamojong homesteads called Manyattas. You will enjoy traditional dances from the Karamojong people, learn how to prepare traditional meals, rearing animals and learn different ways of life of how these people live.

Dinner and overnight stay in Moroto.

Day 8: Transfer to Kidepo valley National Park.

Begin your day with a breakfast and later travel to Kidepo Valley National Park. Enjoy a scenic drive through the vast Karamoja plains, the mountain ranges dominated by mt. Morungole. Kidepo valley is a home to about 500 bird species and 77 mammal species.

Check in on arrival, have dinner and rest till next day.

Day 9:  Full day Game Drive in Kidepo.

After having your breakfast in the morning, you will join your driver for a morning game drive through the kidepo plains. You will see various animals like the lions, elephants, zebras, giraffes, antelopes as well as different bird species in this park.

From the morning game drive, you will return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation. Have another game drive in the evening and return to lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 10: Transfer to Murchison falls national park.

After your breakfast, you will board your vehicle to travel to Masindi to explore the land that holds the world’s most powerful waterfalls, Murchison falls national park. This is Uganda’s oldest and largest national park covering large vast savannah woodlands and vast forests. This is a long journey that will take you 6hours of driving. Be ready to see Uganda’s lush vegetation zones changing from one zone to another.  Murchison falls is a home to over 550 bird species, 51 amphibians,51 reptiles and 144 mammal species.

On arrival, check in at your lodge, have dinner and rest till next day.

Day 11: Game drive and boat safari.

You will have early breakfast and after head to the vehicle to explore the lush savannah forests. Expect to meet four of the big five; that is elephants, lions, leopards and buffaloes. You will also encounter animals like Uganda kobs, antelopes, giraffes and many bird species.

Return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation

In the afternoon, you will have a launch cruise on the nile to view the bottom of the falls. You will have a chance to see the different water birds, reptiles including nile crocodiles, schools of hippos and many more. Return to the lodge for dinner and over night stay.

Day 12: Transfer to Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary.

After breakfast, load your bags to your vehicle to depart for Zziwa rhino sanctuary. You will go for a rhino tracking experience that will take you between 30 minutes to 1 hour. From there you will go for lunch and later continue to Kampala for dinner and accommodation.             

Day 13: Transfer to Ndere cultural centre Mbarara.

Have your first day meal and after set off to Mbarara city for a cultural encounter. You will enjoy splendid cultural performances from the Banyankole exhibiting their culture like royal regalia, code of dressing, food, long -horned cattle through dances, songs, stories, drama, cooking and many more.

Lunch, dinner and accommodation at igongo country hotel.

Day 14: Transfer to Kibale National Park.

Wake up to a well-prepared breakfast, and hit the road to Kibale National Park. This journey takes you 3-4hours. You will enjoy a lush country side taking you through Mubende and stunning Fortportal city to the Kibale Forest, the primate capital of the world. Kibale is a home to 13 primate species including chimpanzees, monkeys, baboons, bush babies and many more.

Day 15: Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi community visit.

You will have an early breakfast before going to the park office for briefing about chimpanzee rules and regulations to follow during this experience. Your guide will then be split into small groups in which you will visit the chimpanzee families. You will then setout for a forest walk in search of these intelligent chimps with a ranger guide. On finding these animals, you will follow them for one hour watching them feed, groom, play, rest and so on. You will carry packed lunch with you while heading to the forest.

From the trek, you will retire for a moment at the lodge, clean off and relax. After in the afternoon, you will visit the Bigodi community for a walk, engagement with the local people where you will participate in cycling, cooking, music, dance and drama, basket weaving, story telling, banana experience at rest in banana and coffee experiences.

Day 16: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, boat safari.

Have breakfast early morning and depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park. Be ready to watch beautiful scenaries on your way as you approach the medley of wonders. This park being at the backdrop of the Rwenzori mountains, gives a magnificent scenery as you watch the sparkling snow capped mountains in the background of this vast park. this is a home to various animals.

Day 17: Morning Game drive in transfer to Ishasha.

Enjoy an early morning game drive in northern Queen Elizabeth National Park before transferring south to the remote Ishasha sector, famous for its unique tree-climbing lions.

Day 18: Morning game drive in Ishasha and transfer to Bwindi.

Dedicate your morning to exploring the network of tracks in Ishasha, keeping a sharp lookout for the resident tree-climbing lions, herds of topis, and elegant kobs. Afterward, you will leave the savanna behind and begin your ascent into the mist-shrouded Kigezi highlands. As the terrain becomes more rugged and terraced, you will eventually arrive at the edge of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, checking into your lodge to prepare for the monumental trekking experience ahead.

Day 19: Gorilla Tracking and Batwa community visit.

Wake up to the sounds of the ancient rainforest for what is bound to be the crowning highlight of your journey. Following an essential pre-trek briefing from the park rangers, you will venture deep into the dense, tangled undergrowth of Bwindi to track a habituated family of mountain gorillas. The encounter, restricted to a magical and profoundly moving one hour, offers an unparalleled look into the daily lives of these gentle giants. In the late afternoon, you will transition from nature to culture by visiting the indigenous Batwa community, where you will learn about their ancient forest-dwelling history, traditional hunting techniques, and vibrant cultural dances.

Day 20: Transfer to Kisoro.

After a thrilling few days of intense wildlife encounters, enjoy a more relaxed morning before departing for Kisoro town. The drive itself is a visual feast, winding through deep valleys, around sharp ridges, and past local homesteads, earned by the region’s nickname, the “Switzerland of Africa.” As you approach your destination, the horizon will open up to reveal the dramatic, conical silhouettes of the Muhabura, Gahinga, and Sabyinyo volcanic peaks, signaling your arrival in the beautiful border region.

Day 21: Golden monkey tracking and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi.

Head out to nearby Mgahinga Gorilla National Park for an active trek through the bamboo forests that carpet the volcanic slopes. Your target today is the endangered golden monkey. A rare and beautifully colored primate known for its playful antics and fast-paced movement through the canopy. Once this exhilarating trek is complete, you will drive to the deeply tranquil and incredibly scenic Lake Bunyonyi, the deepest crater lake in Uganda, where a peaceful evening at your lakeside lodge awaits.

Day 22: Walking Safari, Game drive and sunset.

Spend your morning discovering the secrets of Lake Bunyonyi, a peaceful haven completely free from bilharzia, hippos, and crocodiles. You will embark on a guided walking safari across some of the lake’s 29 islands. Learning about the dark history of Punishment Island and the resilience of local communities. This is followed by a serene boat cruise across the glassy waters. In the afternoon, you will leave this island paradise behind and begin your long-distance overland transfer back to Kampala, arriving in the capital late in the evening.
