Itinerary

Day 1: Travel from Kampala to Kibale

In the morning, you will depart from Kampala and head west to Fort Portal. This lovely town rests in the shadow of the fabled Mountains of the Moon and is famous for the many tea plantations. From Fort Portal we will continue to Kibale National Park for a stay within the tropical forest.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale

Tracking the Chimpanzees is a very interesting experience. Get your hiking shoes on as we move through bush and jungle to spend one hour observing our fascinating relatives. Enjoy a guided nature walk in the tropical rainforest in search of the wild chimpanzee, red-tailed monkey, black-and-white colobus monkey and many others. Later in the day, you will move to the Bigodi Swamp for another, totally different nature walk. The Bigodi Swamp Walk is an initiative of the local community and takes approximately two hours. The swamp is known for its rich diversity of birds and primates.

Day 3: Travel from Kibale to Bwindi

In the morning you will visit the crater lakes area with some stunning views, before continuing to Mbarara to Bwindi. There are 57 crater lakes in the area and …The scenic route runs through a verdant countryside while you pass traditional homesteads and farms.

Day 4: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi

Hikers will love the tracking in the beautiful ecosystem of the park. It is difficult to foresee how many hours you will hike, it may take two to eight, and it all depends on where the gorilla family you are tracking is that day. Expect to walk a long distance in steep and muddy conditions, sometimes with rain overhead, before you encounter any gorillas. But it will definitely be worthwhile as you observe them closely while they eat, play and rest. A unique and unforgettable experience! For conservation purposes, time spent with the gorillas is limited to one hour. The ranger guide always briefs you on how to behave with these amazing giant apes. It is an experience you will never forget.

Day 5: Travel from Bwindi to Lake Bunyonyi

Lake Bunyonyi takes its name from the abundant birdlife that call it home. Over 200 species are found here, including herons, weaver birds and grey-crowned cranes. Lake Bunyonyi is framed by lush, green-terraced hills that reach a height of 2,200-2,478m, but it’s the 29 islands of various shapes and sizes scattered across the water that make it most magical, worthy to be admired all day. It’s a sight that reinvents itself every hour or two with the ever-changing climate and direction of the sun. Enjoy the rest and relaxation from the primates at the beautiful scenery in the whole world.

Day 6; Lake Bunyonyi to Kampala.

We start the long but rewarding drive back to Kampala. On our way we will pass Mpigi village, famous for the Royal Drums Makers and of course the Ugandan Equator, where you can take pictures and shop for a souvenir. With lunch on our way we will reach Kampala at the end of the day.

Day 7: City tour.

After breakfast, start off your day by touring the Kampala city. The city has many attractions, destinations and tourists activities ranging from events to prime time venues and hotels, that’s why it’s referred to as the East Africa’s happiest city. The city boasts of many attractions visitors warmly explore everytime they visit Uganda; including the Uganda museum,Kasubi Tombs, Kabaka’s Lake, Bulange Mengo, Kabaka’s palace (Lubiri, Mengo), the Uganda National Cultural Center, various religious centers like Bahai Temple, Kibuli & Gadaffi Mosques, Namirembe Cathedral, Rubaga Catholics Cathedral.  Later in the day,you will be transferred to the airport depending on your time for the flight.

This 2 Days Lake Mburo safari takes you to one of the smallest National Parks in Uganda filled with diverse wildlife and an amazingly incredible savannah vegetation.

Lake Mburo national park which is located approximately 240 km (by road) west of Kampala; it takes you about 4 hours to drive to the Park.

Day 1: Depart for Lake Mburo National Park, an evening Boat ride.

Have a morning breakfast at the hotel, later picked up by our driver guide, who will brief on your 2 Days Lake Mburo Safari -then drive to towards the Western part of Uganda through towns like Lyantonde and Masaka. You will have a stopover at Mpambire drum makers village where you will observe and also get to know how the locals make the drums.

On arrival in the park, continue for lunch at any hotel or lodge booked. You proceed along the park trails you will spot various animals such as the elands, warthogs, buffaloes, zebras, and waterbucks. In the evening you will have a boat ride along the lake where you will have a great time having a chance to see different animals like the crocodiles, hippos, topis and birds like the fish eagles. Day 2: Morning Game drive

3 Days Lake Bunyonyi Tour: Lake Bunyonyi is found in the south-western part of Uganda lying between Kisoro and Kabale and is close to the Rwandan border. It is Uganda’s deepest lake with a varying depth between 44 m and 900 m, a width of 7 km and 25 km long. With this Lake Bunyonyi is rumoured to be the second deepest lake in Africa lying on an altitude of about 1962 meters above sea level.

The name Bunyonyi means “place of many little birds”. Commonly known for its fresh waters, moderate temperatures and ever changing climate that is mostly cool in the mornings and evenings, let alone the scenery that is characterized by the flourishing green terraced hills and the breathtaking 29 Islands that are scattered transversely in the central part of the water.

It is approximately a 7 hour drive from Kampala to Bunyonyi and around 2 hours if one is traveling from Kigali; Rwanda’s capital city. Lake Bunyonyi also appears on the Uganda’s fifty thousand shilling note. The Lake is among Uganda’s few lakes that are Bilharzia free and safe for swimming. Detailed Itinerary – 3 Days Lake Bunyonyi Tour 

Day 1-Travel from Kampala to Lake Bunyonyi

Have breakfast at your hotel in Kampala and then set off to Southwestern Uganda for the lifetime experience in Lake Bunyonyi. Along the way stop over at the equator and take enough photos and buy some souvenirs. Proceed to Mbarara town and sop over for lunch then afterwards continue the journey to Kabale. When you reach Kabale town, continue to Lake Bunyonyi the evening.
Check in at the lodge of your choice, have dinner and an overnight.

Day 2- Tour around Lake Bunyonyi

(Canoe/boat cruise, bird watching, sightseeing and community walks)
Have an early breakfast, and then visit the Abaheesi and Batwa communities, interact with them; it is surely a good time spent here. Have lunch at the resort and in the evening have a boat cruise on the lake where you will get chance to view various birds, beautiful landscape including some of the 29 islands. If you don’t go for a boat cruise you could opt for cycling around the area.
Return to the lodge, have dinner and have an overnight.

Day 3- Travel back to Kampala

The  3 Days Safari to queen elizabeth safari will take you to Uganda’s most visited National Park- Queen Elizabeth National Park that covers an area 1,978 sq.km, found in the Western part of the country, approximately 376 km from Kampala. Day 1: Travel from Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Wake up early, enjoy a morning breakfast from the hotel after which you will be picked from there by your guide at 7:30 am who will brief you and you embark on the 6 hours journey to Queen Elizabeth. Along the way you will have few stopovers at the Equator, here you will take enough photographs and in Mbarara town at Agip Motel for your lunch.

Thereafter proceed to the Park as you drive through the spectacular landscape characterized with open grasslands, Ankole log horned cattle, tea plantations, the Rift valley Escarpment and various woodlands. Reach the park in late afternoon and have a game drive as you drive to your lodge. Have dinner and there spend an Overnight.

Day 2: Morning Game drive and afternoon Boat safari

Begin your day with a delicious cup of coffee/tea before getting on with the game drive on different trails in the park including the along the Kasenyi trail.

Along the Kasenyi trail there is a great opportunity of seeing various animals like water bucks, Uganda Kobs, elephants, buffaloes, lions, warthogs as well as various birds. After the drive, go back and have breakfast and also lunch at your lodge.

Later during the afternoon, you will take pleasure in cruising on a 2 hours boat safari along Kazinga channel that connects Lake George and Lake Edward, while on the boat you will see a good number of animals like Hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, warthogs, elephants, kobs among others and also a collection of birds like the malachite kingfishers, pink backed pelicans, on the banks and in trees. Day 3: Departure to Kampala

Day 1: Arrival at Kigali International Airport

Arrive at Kigali Airport where our driver guide will receive you from and later transfer you to Kigali-Rwanda’s capital for lunch. After lunch, you will embark on a journey drive to Ruhengeri to the Volcanoes National Park; it is among the widespread Virunga Mountains along with Mgahinga gorilla national park in Uganda and the Virunga in Congo which have a variety of peaks like the Bisoke, Karisimbi, Muhabura and Sabyinyo. It is also home to the rare Mountain Gorillas. Dine and have an overnight stay at booked facility.

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Tracking-Volcanoes

On this beautiful day after your breakfast drive to the headquarters of the park, while there you will have a briefing from the ranger guides concerning gorilla tracking. Later start trekking the gentle giants through the Volcanoes forest. Meeting the gorillas will be the most thrilling experience as you will be amazed at the Silverbacks. It will be a great time watching the gorillas play, communicate to each other and the mothers feed the young ones. In fact today will be your day to view and learn a lot about the gentle giants. Strictly one hour is spent with the gorillas, so make sure utilize your time with them. Return to the lodge, one and spend overnight at booked facility.

Day 3: Golden monkey tracking/Dian Fossey’s grave

You might visit the attractive golden monkeys and take walk to Dian Fossey’s grave or just choose other activities like visiting local community projects and schools or choose to hike Muhavura or Bisoke volcanoes. Have dinner and overnight at booked facility. 

Day 4: Travel to Uganda-Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Enjoy breakfast and transfer to Kigali whereby if time allows you could have a short city tour, after which you will proceed with your journey to Uganda. Arrive at Bwindi Impenetrable and spend an Overnight together with having dinner at booked facility 

Day 5: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi

Be a wake so early and have breakfast after drive to the headquarters, be brief and go through the mist Bwindi forest as you trek gorillas, it is an amazing time added with great views of the Silverback and other wildlife species in the forest. Upon meeting the gorillas, you will have only an hour with them. Later head back to the lodge and in the evening have a walk through the community of the indigenous Batwa people where you will learn a lot about their culture. Day 6: Return to Kigali-Rwanda

Have an early breakfast and after that bid good bye to the great Bwindi forest and drive back to Kigali where you will have lunch and after your guide will transfer you to the Airport for your flight back home.

Day 1: Kampala – Jinja

Detailed Itinerary – 15 Days Uganda safari

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison falls national park

Pick up by your guide from the Hotel in Kampala in the morning after breakfast and transfer you to Murchison falls through the Luwero triangle. On the way, visit Ziwa rhino sanctuary where you will track rhinos and have lunch at the restaurant. Proceed to the park, visit the falls at the top where you will see the magnificent falls passing through the 7 m gap with rocks and form the Victoria Nile. After head to the lodge, have super and an overnight.

Day 2: Murchison Falls National Park – Game drives & Boat cruises

On this day, enjoy breakfast at the lodge and set out for a 2 hours game drive in Uganda’s largest park with a variety of wildlife such as leopards, hippos, lions, warthogs, buffaloes, elephants, antelopes, giraffes, waterbucks as well as different bird species.

After the drive, drive to the lodge and have lunch, then have a 3 hours boat cruise on the Nile where you will see a number of animals along the banks such as elephants, hippos, crocodile, antelopes, and also monkeys and birds will be spotted along to, sail to the bottom of the falls where you will hike for about 1hour and 30 minutes after which you will return to your lodge for dinner and Overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Forest

Wake up early and after breakfast checkout from your lodge and have a game drive out of the park to Kibale Forest via Fortportal. Kibale forest is one of Africa’s beautiful rain forests and home to 13 primates and most common ones are Chimpanzees, it is also a great place for birders since it harbors over 325 bird species. Driving to this park great scenic views are spotted along the way.

Have a nature walk in the evening in the park, dinner and an Overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 4: Kibale Forest Chimpanzee tracking Uganda safari

Breakfast, head to the park head offices for briefing and after set out for Chimpanzee tracking through the forest. Remember that only 1 hour is given to trackers when they meet with the chimpanzees. On seeing chimpanzees, other primates can be spotted such as the Red Tailed Monkeys, L’Hoest’s Monkeys, Blue Monkeys, Black & White colobus Monkeys among others and also elephants, antelopes, buffaloes can be spotted in the forest.

Go back to the lodge for lunch. In the evening go for a walk through the Bigodi wetland where you will see birds, baboons, bush babies among other wildlife species. Have dinner and Overnight.

Day 5: Queen Elizabeth National Park

Day 6: Game drive & Boat cruise

Today after breakfast go for an early morning game drive through the park where you will see different wildlife species like waterbucks, lions, elephants, hartebeests, giraffes, antelopes, buffaloes, leopards, warthogs, also view different crater lakes. After the 3 hour drive, head back for lunch as you prepare for the afternoon 2 hour boat cruise on Kazinga channel which is home to over 550 hippos; also you will birds and other animals like crocodiles, elephants, antelopes among others. Return and have dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Game drive & transfer to Ishasha sector

Waking up so early and set out to again see these animals in their distinctive clans, families and groups, this game drive can be taken through the Kasenyi plains looking out for elephants, leopards, buffaloes, waterbucks, and various colorful birds. Later, take a 2 hours drive to Ishasha which is a home to tree-climbing lions. With the help of skilled park rangers you will also such out for these lions and imagine how amazing it is to watch the lions in trees. Have lunch at the lodge or in form of a picnic.

Day 8: Transfer to Bwindi Forest

On this day, you begin your journey to Bwindi the home to the gentle giants Mountain gorillas. This journey will take you through Kigezi highlands and its various terraced hills. Have Lunch on your way or from the lodge; it will be dependent on your arrival time. Have dinner and take a rest at your lodge.

Day 9: Mountain gorilla trekking  

Talk of gentle giants with a 98% DNA close to that of humans, its the Mountain gorillas which made Bwindi Forest their home. Also other species like butterflies, plants, primates, mammals, butterflies, frogs, among others are also found here. After briefing at the headquarters, you will be led by the rangers into the jungle to track gorillas.

This experience usually takes 1 hour to about 8 hours since gorillas move differently also and only 1 hour is granted to capture your greatest moments with the gorillas. Just in case some of you are not interested in tracking gorillas, you can go for a short guided forest walk or Village walk to the Batwa community. Retire at the lodge.

Day 10: Drive to Lake Bunyonyi

Today after breakfast while still in the mood of reminiscing about the previous days gorilla experiences, you will drive to Lake Bunyonyi, which is Africas second deepest lake and a birders spot. Enjoy the eye-catching landscapes such as the locally terraced interlocking hills where most locals carryout their farming.

Also while here you are in the base that was named by Britishs great diplomat Winston Churchill as the Switzerland of Africa.

Day 11: Lake Bunyonyi

Take your breakfast having amazing views from surrounding hills, forests and the beautiful rays of the morning sun. After head out for a canoe ride on the lake which harbors 29 islands and almost every island with a history such as the Punishment Island – enjoy the stories from the guides on this boat ride. Return to the lodge, have lunch and in the afternoon, take a walk, or hike up the hills to enjoy more spectacular views of forests and lakes, or watch birds, or read a book while relaxing by the lake shores, or swim in the lake which is Bilharzia free and safe for swimming.

Day 12: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park- Home of Zebras

After breakfast, embark to the 4 hours and 30 minutes’ drive to Lake Mburo national park among Uganda’s smallest parks with lunch en route you will be passing through stunning sceneries, farms, and plantations. The park is home to a big number of Zebras, also impalas, oribis, buffaloes, warthogs, waterbucks and also over 332 bird species made it their home. When you arrive in the park- in the afternoon go on a boat cruise along Lake Mburo, take enough photographs.

Day 13: Drive to Kampala

Enjoy an early breakfast, after do a game drive as you continue to Kampala, have a stop at the Equator line; take photos and also buy some souvenirs from craft shop. Enjoy lunch still at the Equator or in Kampala depending on the time you arrive there.

After lunch drive to Jinja found in the East of Uganda and the home of the source of the Nile River. Arrive in the evening and have dinner and take a rest at the lodge/hotel of your choice.

Day 14: White water rafting & discovering the Nile

Have an early breakfast and head out for today’s activities. The Nile River finds its source in Jinja where it starts the 4000 km through different African countries. So your driver will take you to where the beginning point is as you go for discovering the Source of the Nile; you will go for a guided boat cruise on the Nile. After the boat, go for half day rafting on the rapids which is an adventure and an unforgettable experience. Have lunch and after you could choose to rest at the lodge on the swimming pool or go for optional activities like bungee jumping or kayaking or quad biking or Horse riding

Day 15: Return to Kampala the Entebbe International Airport

Take breakfast leave Jinja for Kampala buy some souvenirs to take home with you. If you have a flight on the same day your guide will transfer you to Entebbe as you bid farewell to Uganda We believe you had a great time in this 12 days Uganda safari with both different people and also in the wild.

5 Days Uganda gorilla and wildlife safari

Day 1: Pick up from Kampala and  transfer to  Bwindi forest National park.

Our driver guide will pick you up from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe, give you a briefing, and then drive you to the Bwindi forest in the southwest. Make two stops: the first at the Equator to browse the shops and take pictures, and the second in Mbarara to eat lunch. Once you arrive in the evening, continue your journey to this spectacular forest, which is home to mountain gorillas and other primate species. After dinner, stay the night. Accommodations options:  include Chameleon Hill, Mahogany Springs, Gorilla Mist Camp, Gorilla Friends Camp, and Ruhija (Budget) Half-board; meal plan

Day 2: Gorilla trekking activity.

After a satisfying breakfast, make sure to bring a packed lunch from the hotel so you may head straight to the park headquarters for briefing . Here, you can meet other hikers and get information on going in search of gorillas. Later, you will start your journey under the guidance of park ranger guides who are educated about these gorillas. Depending on the movement of the mountain gorillas at that moment, the duration of your trip could be between 2 and 8 hours.

You are urged to wear sturdy shoes, bring plenty of drink, sunglasses, raincoats, and caps. Only an hour will you be permitted to spend with the gorillas. Go back to your resort and unwind. You can choose to rest at the lodge during the evenings or go to the Batwa community, where you can learn a lot about their culture and customs. Stay the night and return for dinner.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park

Drive to Queen Elizabeth after breakfast through the Ishasha sector, which is famous for its tree-climbing lions and other animal species including monkeys, kobs, buffaloes, elephants, and birds, among others. Once you get to the park, you’ll check in at the lodge and eat a delicious lunch there before getting  ready for a afternoon game drive in the park in search for wildlife . Dinner is served at the resort; stay the night. Day 4 : Morning game drive in the park and  afternoon boat cruise on kazinga channel.

 Get up early prepare, the Kasenyi track and other tracks offer opportunities to see lions, buffalo, antelopes, and elephants. Once you’ve had a cup of coffee, head out for a game drive. As you prepare for the boat tour on the Kazinga channel, one of the best things to do when visiting this park, travel back to the lodge after breakfast and lunch. Later, eat dinner there and spend the night.

Day 5: Exit the park and head back to Kampala.

Get up in the morning and have a relaxed breakfast, later check out and  head back to Kampala.

3 Days Murchison falls national park safari will journey you to Uganda’s  largest national park, measuring upto 3,840 sq km, Murchison falls national park obtained its national park status in the park year in 1962 and is situated in Northern western part of Uganda.

3 Days Murchison falls national park Safari

Savannah grasslands are what it is known for, and the Victoria Nile that runs through it divides it in half (the northern and southern bank). More than 451 bird species, including the Great blue Turaco, Goliath heron, Shoebill, and dwarf kingfisher, as well as 76 mammal species, a large population of Nile crocodiles, and, of course, the magnificent and thunderous Murchison Falls, which squeeze through an 8-meter-wide gorge, call Murchison Falls home. Day 1: Transfer to Murchison falls national park , Rhino tracking .

Following a leisurely breakfast, our driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel at 7:00 am. He will also give you a briefing on your 3-day safari to Murchison Falls, and then you will begin the 6-hour trip to the national park. After passing through the Luwero, you will make a stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to conduct rhino tracking. Both black and white rhinos can be found here.

After tracking, make another stop in Masindi for lunch. Then, after entering the park and paying the entrance fee, drive up to the top of the falls. Along the route, you’ll witness a variety of creatures, including warthogs and baboons, among others.

The view of the spectacular falls squeezing through the rocks in an 8-meter valley is breathtaking from the top of the falls. As many pictures as you can, please. Drive to the lodge afterwards, unwind all evening, eat dinner, and stay the night.

There are several lodging alternatives, including Heritage Lodge/Red Chilli (budget), Pakuba Safari Lodge/Murchison River Lodge (mid-range), and Paraa Safari Lodge/Chobe Safari Lodge (luxury).

Day 2:  Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise on the nile.

Get up early and eat breakfast at 6:30 am on this day. Your driver and ranger guide will then pick you up from the resort to begin your game drive at 7:00 am. You will get the opportunity to witness a wide variety of species during the drive, including lions, buffalo, giraffes, elephants, antelopes, water bucks, and birds, among others.

Along the banks of the Nile, you will be able to observe a variety of Nile crocodiles, hippos, buffaloes, and elephants, as well as a variety of magnificent birds, some of which sing in the trees, including bee eaters, colored kingfishers, shoe-billed storks, and many others. You will reach the base or bottom of the Murchison Falls by boat, where you will be able to properly see the impressive cascades.You could decide to go to the summit, where you’ll run into your driver guide and be driven back to the inn. After dinner, spend the night.

Drive back to the lodge after the game drive at roughly 11:40 a.m., unwind, freshen up, and have lunch as you get ready for the afternoon boat cruise.

Day 3:  Exit the park and Transfer back to Kampala.

Enjoy your breakfast before setting out on a second game drive the following morning to return to Kampala. It will be fun to keep an eye out for different animal species, though the most of them will be found feeding in the grasslands, including buffalo, elephants, giraffes, lions, antelopes, and other bird species.

Leave the park, stop for lunch in Masindi, and continue traveling till you reach Kampala in the evening. Breakfast and lunch on the menu FINISH OF SAFARI
