Day 1: Go to Lake Nakuru National park
Your 10-Day Safari across Kenya and Tanzania starts now! We will pick you up in our cozy 4 x 4 safari car from the Nairobi airport or your hotel. Enjoy the sights and sounds of Nairobi, an intriguing East African metropolis frequently called the “green city in the sun,” as we head forth.
You’ll notice a shift in the landscape as soon as you leave Nairobi; Kenya is truly a stunning area, which is why visitors who come for safaris there year after year keep coming back.
We’ll follow the route that Italian POWs during World War II built, which leads us down the Rift Valley escarpment and its striking landforms toward Kenya’s lush highlands. Before arriving at Lake Nakuru, we will pause to take in the breathtaking rock formations and high peaks.
One of the soda lakes in the rift valley, Nakuru is named after a Maasai word that means “dusty place.” It is a component of the 188 square kilometer Lake Nakuru National Park. High mountains encircle the lake, and the vistas are sure to wow. Watch the game as you go to the lodge after entering the park. After lunch and a nap, there’s a game drive in the afternoon that ends back at the lodge as the sun sets.
Both black and white rhinos have a significant sanctuary in this picturesque park. There are currently over 50 rhinos in the park , and the number is continually growing. A further unique animal in the park is the endangered Rothschild giraffe. Other animals include African buffalo, leopards, zebras, elands, waterbucks, and lions.
You will come across a wide variety of bird species in the park whilst roaming, one of which is the magnificent pink flamingo. Large groups of pelicans can also be found in the park.
Options for Lodging:

Flamingo Hill Camp, Lake Nakuru Lodge, and Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge are in the middle.

Day 2: Journey to Masai Mara
Following an early breakfast, we travel via Mai-Mahiu to Narok town, stopping briefly for a break, and then continue on to Masai Mara. By the time we get to the lodge, lunch will be ready.
We have a little break napping or relaxing after lunch before embarking on our first game drive in the Mara. We’ll head back to the lodge as the sun sets to rest, have supper, and freshen up.
Masai Mara National Reserve, also referred to as the Mara, is a safari location that is difficult to top. That being said, the Masai Mara is most likely what you have in mind when you dream of an African safari. Wide-open savannah with herds of grazers roaming over the horizon and halting in the shade of lone acacia trees during the heat of the day is what defines Africa.
Furthermore, there is no other place in Africa with as much wildlife, and seeing the Big Five—the buffalo, elephant, leopard, lion, and rhino—is practically a given.
One of the greatest spots in Africa to view cheetahs is Masai Mara. And this is the site of one of the best wildlife shows in the world, which happens every year between July and October. Around 2.5 million zebras, gazelles, and wildebeests assemble at this time to walk across the Mara River, which is teeming with crocodiles. Their migratory lifestyle drives them to seek for rainfall and new grass to graze on.
Options for Lodging:
Luxury: Ashnil Mara Camp, Mara Serena Lodge, Mara Leisure Camp
Mara Sopa Lodge, Jambo Mara Lodge, and Basecamp Masai Mara are in the middle.
Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Meal Plans
Travel Time & Distance: About 237 kilometers in 4 hours
Day 3: Game drives in the Mara are unlimited.
A traditional savannah reserve, Masai Mara features clear skies, golden grass, occasional trees, high escarpments, and rocky hills. These dots in the landscape are referred to by the Masai word “Mara,” which means speckled.
Today, you’ll take a 4×4 game drive around the Maasai Mara starting at dawn light. The ideal time to see wildlife is at dawn when the animals are most active in their quest for food. While the large cats search for prey, you can observe the wildebeests grazing on the plains.
You will travel back to the resort in the morning, where you can have lunch and possibly take a nap in the heat. You will take part in another game drive in the afternoon and follow these creatures as they look for water and shade.
Ride in a hot air balloon, optional
Hot-air balloon safaris at sunrise are one optional activity. Take a one-hour balloon ride above the vast savanna grasslands to get a bird’s-eye perspective of the Maasai Mara. A lavish champagne breakfast on the Mara plains will top the exciting adventure. After lunch, you’ll spend the rest of the morning at the lodge before going on the afternoon game drive. After that, eat another supper out on the plains before going back to camp so you can unwind that evening.

Day 4: Masai Village Tour & Game Drive
A second full day at the park will provide you the chance to see more of the wildlife in its natural habitat because of the abundant wildlife activities. A cheetah pursuing an impala, a lion killing a zebra, or the peaceful activities of elephants grazing and birds making nests are a few examples of this. By lunchtime, we should return to the lodge. We had lunch and maybe napped after that before going on another game drive.
We visit a Maasai community after our game drive to gain insight into the customs of the renowned Maasai People. Your guide will take you on a tour of the village where you will learn about their customs, beliefs, and everyday activities, such as seeing demonstrations of how to build fire with sticks. You have the opportunity to support the neighborhood by purchasing some gifts or curios manufactured by the residents at the conclusion of the trip.

Day 5: Travel Through the Isebania Border to the Serengeti
Today, after an early breakfast, leave Masai Mara and travel 370 km (six to seven hours) by car to Tanzania’s vast Serengeti National Park. The route passes through the border town of Isebania, Kenya/Tanzania. The Masai Mara and the Serengeti are part of the same ecosystem. The smaller Serengeti extension should be Masai Mara. The park is the quintessential safari destination, a renowned wildlife reserve.
The 1.5 million hectares that make up this protected region live up to the Maasai word for “endless plains,” or “the land that goes on forever.” With approximately 3 million stunning African creatures, including the greatest number of lions in Africa (reportedly over 3,000 in this ecosystem alone), the park is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After your initial game drive upon arrival, you’ll head to your lodge for some downtime, supper, and overnight.
Options for Lodging:
Luxurious: Lamai Serengeti/Andbeyond Serengeti Under Canvas
Midrange : Kati Kati Tented Camp and Serengeti Wilderness Camp are in the middle.
Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Meal Plans
Day 6: Full-Day Serengeti Game Drive
Take a full-day excursion over the plains to learn about the Serengeti early in the morning. Given that the ecosystem of the Serengeti National Park is among the oldest on Earth, there is much for you to observe here. The famous African Big Five animals can be seen there in their native environment. The Great Migration, dubbed the “greatest wildlife show on earth,” takes place every year in the Serengeti.
During this great wildebeest migration, hundreds of thousands of zebras and gazelles go to new grazing areas with over a million wildebeest. Since this is the primary migration path, you will go through the park’s northern section today, close to the Masai Mara. Because the region is secluded and somewhat inaccessible, it also provides an opportunity to get away from the throng.
The stunning views of rolling green hills, granite outcrops, and acacia woodlands scattered across the open savanna await those who manage to reach this location. And there’s the amazing wildlife, most notably the enormous herds of zebras and wildebeests that risk their lives to cross the Mara River, home to crocodiles, during the Great Migration, which takes place from June to November.
In addition to having good populations of cheetahs, lions, and leopards, as well as hippos and giraffes, this area of the park is home to the largest densities of elephants in the Serengeti.
You can choose to leave early for a game drive in the morning and come back to the camp in time for lunch. You have the option to go on another wildlife game drive later in the afternoon or just unwind with a nice book at the resort. As an alternative, you might have a leisurely breakfast at the lodge or camp, go for your wildlife drive later in the day, and return in the middle of the afternoon.
Options for Lodging:

midrange : Kati Kati Tented Camp and Serengeti Wilderness Camp
Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Meal Plans
Day 7: Take a Full Day Safari In the Serengeti
One of the most visited places in the entire park is Seronera Valley, which is situated in the south-central part of Serengeti. Often referred to as the “big cat capital of Africa,” it is the home of several cheetahs, leopards, and lions.
In addition, it is common to come across a variety of smaller predators including mongooses, jackals, servals, caracals, and bat-eared foxes during the course of a day, in addition to all four of Africa’s great predators: lions, hyenas, leopards, and cheetahs.
This pure valley has an incredibly beautiful scenery. Beyond the horizon lay endless savannas. Winding rivers meander across a patchwork of fields, ponds, woods, and wetlands. Dark silhouettes of umbrella-shaped acacia trees rise above the plains. Massive granite kopjes that tower over the horizon provide a timeless picture of Africa.
In addition, during the migrations from May to June (the northward migration) and November to December (the southern migration), over a million wildebeest and zebra cross the valley in a haze of red dust and a thunderclap of hooves. This is the greatest animal spectacle on earth.
Options for Lodging:
Elegance: Dunia Camp, Serengeti Serena Lodge, and Serengeti Sopa Lodge
In the middle: Serengeti Kati Kati Camp
Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Meal Plans
Day 8: Transfer to Ngorongoro
You will transfer to Ngorongoro in the morning and have a game drive in the Serengeti. Olduvai Gorge will be your pit stop along the route. Paleoanthropological sites found in this enormous valley, which is over 48 km long and 300 feet deep, have been essential in expanding our knowledge of human evolution.
It is well-known for the evolutionary findings of early human developmental markers. The discovery of hundreds of fossilized bones and stone artifacts in the region that date back millions of years has proven that humans originated in Africa.
We drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area after leaving Olduvai Gorge and all the way to the crater’s edge. You have a great view of the lush caldera below you from this vantage point. The biggest intact volcanic crater in the world, the Ngorongoro Crater is one of Africa’s seven natural wonders.
The roughly 264 km2 broad crater with walls 2000 feet high provides a natural amphitheater for the densest concentration of huge animals on Earth. There are over 30,000 big mammals living in the crater. The crater is very breathtaking, and this is one of the best places in Africa to see wildlife.

Day 9: Game Drive in Ngorongoro Crater
We will spend the entire day within the crater, returning late in the afternoon to our lodge on the crater rim for dinner after having a picnic lunch on the crater floor. Prepare to be amazed by some amazing plants and animals!
The Ngorongoro Crater is most known for its plethora of unique animals and natural beauty. It is sometimes referred to be the eighth wonder of the world. This UNESCO World Heritage Site, which is surrounded by Tanzania’s highlands, is undoubtedly something that all naturalists and animal enthusiasts should see.
A full-day game drive offers the chance to witness an incredible variety of African wildlife, such as buffalo, leopards, the elusive black rhino, enormous bull elephants, and the renowned black-maned lions. Thousands of migratory pink flamingos call the picturesque Lake Magadi in the heart of the Ngorongoro Crater home. We’ll head back to the lodge once more for a traditional Tanzanian meal and a restful night’s sleep.

Day 10: Head to lake manyara and later connect to Arusha
After a hearty breakfast, you will head off for a full day of game viewing, crossing the Great Rift Valley to get to Lake Manyara. The extraordinarily lush acacia forest of massive fig and mahogany trees in this charming park is well-known for its beauty and is home to the highest concentration of Olive Baboons (also known as blue monkeys) in the world, as well as blue monkeys!
It is renowned for its exquisite array of birds as well. There are a lot of buffalo, giraffes, elephants, impalas, and hippos in Lake Manyara National Park. In addition, this park is well-known for the pink flamingos that line the lake’s edge and the lions that scale trees. Drives around the lakefront offer thrilling perspectives of the lake, flamingos, and level grasslands in the distance, with animals in the foreground.
You will head Arusha and be dropped at the airport for your flight home or be dropped at the hotel for your stay.
